Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root which is placed within the bone to form the support structure for a tooth-like restoration. They are generally used to support crowns, bridges and dentures.

Implant surgery can be performed under general anaesthesia as an outpatient procedure, or can be done under local anaesthesia by a trained dentist.

At Smile Dentistry, we provide implant restorations in collaboration with a specialist.

How we work

Implant restorations are the closest approximations (in terms of function and appearance) to your natural teeth and so are often recommended in situations where tooth structure is very weak or when there is little original tooth left. In any case where a restoration is required, your treating dentist will need to assess your individual needs to determine which solution will work best for you.

Please call (02) 9818 3951 to book an appointment for a consultation with one of our dentists.
